The Health Care Supply Sustainable Procurement Award

Criteria: This award will go to the supply chain team or individual working in a health care organisation that can best demonstrate an organisational wide commitment and proven case for sustainability. In particular the judges will be looking for evidence of supply chain enhancements that have had a direct and positive impact on reducing the overall carbon footprint of the organisation whilst providing real and tangible cash savings that allow sustainable service improvements to the end service user.

This Award will go to the individual or team that best demonstrates the following:

  • An efficiency gain that is quantifiable in real cash terms
  • Reduction of the carbon footprint
  • How suppliers have engaged with sustainability policy or initiatives
  • How sustainability has been embedded in organisational culture
  • Impact of sustainability on profitability or financial performance
  • Innovation of the sustainability model or its implementation
  • Leadership and management of the sustainability policy or initiative
  • Impact on attitudes in the wider health community
  • How sustainability objectives are measured

Nominations for this Award must be accompanied by an appropriate level of supporting documentation which comprehensively describes and evidences achievement in relation to the criteria above.

Nominations for this award are not restricted to members of the Association and can be made on behalf of anyone) working at any level in the health care purchasing and supply function (or healthcare organisation). The nomination must be proposed and seconded by members of the Association.
